Job description

Eden Brown is working in partnership with a prestigious public sector organisation to recruit for a Purchasing and Contracts Manager to be based in Oxfordshire

Key responsibilities of the Purchasing and Contracts Manager:

Producing, where appropriate, category plans that address all aspects of strategic sourcing of non-care related goods and services including identification of savings, supplier leverage and rationalisation.

Executing the procurement aspects of those plans in a way that supports delivery of the organisation's Commercial Vision and achieves value for money for the governing body.

Undertaking a lead commercial role in the Analyse stage and Plan stage of the organisation's procurement and commissioning cycle.

Developing supply market knowledge across the organisation's direct spend categories of non-care related goods and services.

Identifying opportunities for improving value for money and delivering savings

Candidate requirements:

Significant strategic procurement experience involving projects having multi-million pound expenditure gained from public sector
Experience in commercially scoping and shaping requirements at pre-procurement stage
Experience in strategic sourcing / category management across a broad and diverse range of goods and services
Experience of practical use of Microsoft applications
